About our creator

Bex is the creative genius behind HookedByBex. She is the original creator of the Positive Potato®, the original Fine-Apple ™ and Awesome Avo ™.

She may not have been born with a crochet hook in her hand, but when her adorable nephew came into this world, Auntie Bex knew I had to create something special for him.

Armed with a crochet hook and a video tutorial, she lovingly crafted a tiny blue bootie. It took her over two hours and she still had to create the matching pair. But she persevered!

Flash forward a few years and her nephew, and his siblings, have very much out grown those booties. But Bex has not outgrown crochet. She started making cute amigurumi characters and eventually birthed into being, the amazing Positive Potato®.

Steve the Positive Potato® was created in July 2022 and was a smash hit (see what he did there!). In fact he was so popular that some pesky copycats copied his image with some pretty shocking clones. Bex has been fearlessly fighting for Steve with some amazing allies she has picked up along the way.
